OsC and "download link"

Hi,
i would like to enable to generation of a download link for a customer following their purchase of an item, and keep itlive for 24 hours. how does one do that in OsC?

I've built a store using OScommerce a couple of years ago and I remember there were some patches to let it behave that way and sell digital products. A quick search on Google reveals them:
